Caitlin Thorn of Manasquan, New Jersey, has been appointed
as events coordinator/box office manager for the Convention Hall/Paramount Theatre
(CHP) complex in Asbury Park, New Jersey. As the newest member of Asbury Partners'
Oceanfront Asbury Entertainment division, she is responsible for coordinating
operations and bookings for the historic property.
Asbury Partners, master developer for the 56-acre, mixed-use Oceanfront Asbury waterfront redevelopment, created the entertainment division upon acquiring CHP in early 2004. "Entertainment is a key component of Asbury Park's past, present and future cultural appeal, and we are committed to supporting increased activity at Convention Hall and Paramount Theatre," noted Larry Fishman, chief operating officer.
"Our talented staff is working hard to re-establish the complex as one of the state's most revered venues," he added. "Caitlin's strong background in marketing, sales and customer service, and her contagious enthusiasm make her a great addition to the team."
Thorn's short-term goals for her new position include enhancing the variety and scope of events at CHP, contributing to the planning of ongoing major festival programs, and re-designing the CHP Box Office. On a day-to-day basis, she handles all aspects of scheduling, promoter relations and event operations for the complex.
"Growing up in Southern Monmouth County, I would often hear stories of 'the old' Asbury Park, and I am excited to be part of the team that is bringing beauty back into this great historical city," she said. "The people who live in and visit Asbury Park are diverse in their backgrounds and interests, and we are gearing our schedule to accommodate them with a range of programs - for children, music buffs, theater enthusiasts, sports fans and more. We have a lot of exciting things in the works."
Prior to joining Asbury Partners, Thorn served as marketing coordinator/realtor associate for an Ocean County real estate firm. She is a licensed New Jersey real estate salesperson and holds active memberships in the National Association of Realtors, the New Jersey Association of Realtors and the Ocean County Board of Realtors. Thorn earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree in photography from the University of Delaware.
Convention Hall is located on the Asbury Park boardwalk and extends out over
the water, with a capacity of up to 3,600 persons. It features an impressive
stage area and a spacious arena floor. The Paramount Theatre, recognized for
its superior acoustics, seats approximately 1,600 persons. A grand arcade connects
the two buildings in a boardwalk-protected enclosed area. Warren and Wetmore
designed the architectural landmark in 1923.
