ASBURY PARK HOSTS FULL LINE-UP OF FALL
EVENTS
Oceanfront Asbury Entertainment Arranges Events for Every Taste
ASBURY PARK, N.J., Oct. 5, 2005 - Summer is not the only season filled with fun and excitement at the Jersey Shore.
Oceanfront Asbury Entertainment has assembled a full schedule of events for the fall in Asbury Park, ranging from sports, to concerts, to a stimulating evening of social commentary.
The calendar includes:
October
- Saturday, Oct. 15 - Sport Body Building
and Fitness Competition
Paramount Theatre
South Jersey Bodybuilding presents a national qualifier for the Open
Men and Women's Fitness categories. Open to all NPC registered
athletes. Pre-judging - 11 a.m., finals - 6 p.m.
- Saturday, Oct. 15 - Banda Quisillos, Los
Razos, Diana Reyes and Conjunto Primavera
Convention Hall,
8 p.m.
Popular Latin music will be the highlight of the evening.
- Friday, Oct. 21 - Henry
Rollins: 25 Years of B.S. Spoken Word Tour
Paramount Theatre, 7 p.m.
Rollins, the onetime front man of the Black Flag punk band, has refashioned
himself as a talking head for counterculture and contemporary thought.
- Saturday, Oct. 22 -
The Rocky Horror Picture Show
Paramount Theatre, 11:30 p.m.
This popular cult film,
that invites audience participation, is an outrageous assemblage
of science fiction, comedy and rock n' roll of every vintage.
It has been attracting fans for more than 30 years.
- Saturday,
Oct. 29 - Ring of Combat IX
Convention Hall, 8 p.m.
Mixed martial arts bouts, including a combination of traditional
karate, kickboxing and submission grappling (ground fighting).
- Sunday, Oct. 30 - Van
Helsing's Curse
Paramount Theatre, 7 p.m.
Twisted Sister's Dee Snider has created the ultimate Halloween experience
combining thrilling story-telling with classical music
with theatrical rock.
November
- Friday, Nov. 11 - 311
Convention Hall, 7 p.m.
The band 311 returns to Convention Hall in an all-ages-to-enter,
21-to-drink event. Special guests to be announced.
- Sunday, Nov. 20 - Walk
As One - Rock As One
Convention Hall and Boardwalk, noon -
4 p.m.
The National Conference for Community and Justice-New
Jersey (NCCJ-NJ) presents the inaugural walk-a-thon with a
post walk concert. All proceeds go to youth programs aimed
at ending bigotry and racism.
- Tuesday, Nov. 22 -
O.A.R.
Convention Hall, 7 p.m.
This popular group's music is heavily influenced by many styles,
particularly rock and reggae. Special appearance by the Mrnorth
rock group from Dublin, Ireland.
