OCT. 30: "VAN HELSING'S CURSE" HALLOWEEN
EXTRAVAGANZA COMING TO ASBURY PARK
Twisted Sister's Dee Snider Narrates Musical Ghost Story
ASBURY PARK, N.J., Sept. 26, 2005 - Be prepared for the ultimate
Halloween experience as Dee Snider's "Van Helsing's Curse" musical
extravaganza makes its way to Asbury Park's Paramount Theatre
on Sunday, Oct. 30 at 7 p.m.
"Van Helsing's Curse Oculus Infernum" is the tale of an evil entity who descends
on a town and kills all the adults. Dee Snider, lead singer of the band Twisted
Sister and currently host of the nationally syndicated House of Hair radio show,
has created a musical event around this tale of horror. Snider, no stranger to
horror has written and stared in the cult classic "Strangeland," and is currently
working on "Strangeland II" with Robert England aka Freddy Kruger.
The performance includes a five piece rock band, a six-piece string section and
a six-piece choir. The musicians, dressed like Goths, play haunting music that
includes everything from Chopin's "Funeral March" to pieces by Black Sabbath
and original creations by Snider. The chorus, dressed as Druids, sing along hauntingly
in Latin, as Snider himself narrates the tale. The experience is further enhanced
by the music of the Bronx Casket Company who is the opening act for the evening's
festivities. The event is produced by Hauntrepreneur Cliff Witmyer owner of Cliffhanger
Productions and Fun Ghoul Costume Company of Rutherford, N.J.
"Van Helsing's Curse" was first released as a CD in 2003. This year, the live
concert will be performed in only four places: Philadelphia, Detroit, Long Island
and Asbury Park - the latter being honored with the all-important Halloween Eve
performance.
Tickets are $25 and $35 and can be purchased through Ticketmaster online, charge
by phone, or any Ticketmaster outlet. For further information, contact the Paramount
