ASBURY PARK RECREATION PROGRAMS RECEIVE BOOST FROM OCEANFRONT REDEVELOPER
Asbury Partners contributes funding for boxing and hair braiding programs
Asbury Park, N.J. – In its continuing effort to revitalize the spirit of Asbury Park as it rebuilds the city’s
oceanfront, Asbury Partners contributed $2,000 to the Asbury
Park Recreation Department to help support two after school
programs.
The donation was split to benefit both the boxing and hair braiding program for children in Asbury Park. Approximately 15 children participate in the boxing program, and the contribution will help fund equipment, an instructor and space. About a dozen girls participate in the hair braiding program, and the donation will help pay for supplies and space.
“We are always excited to support the creation of positive outlets for the city’s children,” said Larry Fishman, COO of Asbury Partners. “To
be able to revive Asbury Park and its waterfront, we must first be able to help
lift the spirits of this great community.”
“To effectively reach the youth of the community, we have to be able to provide them with positive opportunities and an alternative to the dangers that surround them,” said Asbury Park Assistant City Manager, James Famularo. “We are grateful for Asbury Partners’ generosity and their support of such programs for the city’s
children.”
In addition to this contribution, Asbury Partners has also
recently supported other after school activities for Asbury
Park Children. In the beginning of the year, the company agreed
to donate $25,000 to help repair a dilapidated baseball field
for the city’s little league program. Later in the year, Asbury Partners supported Mayor Sanders’ Learn
More to Earn More program that sent excelling student-athletes
to a New Jersey Nets game.
